Emeryville, California based Geo. M. Martin Company won this year’s Innovator of the Year Award on September 11 during the TAPPI/AICC SuperCorrExpo trade show.
Geo. M. Martin Company, founded in 1929, won in the machinery category for their SmartShingle innovation which minimizes feed interrupts during stack or bundle changes.
Entries in the machine catetory focus on equipment, products or services that are directly related to the mechanical converting process. Entries in this category benefit the paperboard packaging industry through enhanced efficiency, quality, productivity, and safety of the members of the paperboard packaging community.
The Innovator of the Year competition, co-sponsored by AICC and Board Converting News is designed to recognize innovative solutions created by both AICC box plant and supplier members that enhance the efficiencies, productivity, product quality and bottom line profitability of the independent box plant. The competition alternates its focus between box makers, suppliers, and non-machinery aspects of the converting industry.
